Thank you for always using AOCS.
We would like to inform you about the revision of our point system as follows:

From June 1st, 2024 (Japan Standard Time), we will reduce the current point allocation rate, which returns 6% of the total purchase amount of Toranoana, by 0.5% to 5.5%.

Until now, based on the Japanese tax exemption system that should be applied to our customers living abroad, AOCS has been providing you with returns through point allocations.
Our goal has been to return as much as possible to you by deducting costs such as procedures from the tax refunds that you should originally receive.
However, a revision of the Japanese tax law was implemented on October 1st, 2023, and doujinshi or doujin items were excluded from domestic consumption tax refunds.

While the point system is widely appreciated by our customers for its benefits when using AOCS, we have continued our efforts to maintain the 6% point allocation by striving to reduce costs and labor expenses.
However, with about 70% of transactions being doujinshi, together with global inflation and the plunge of the dollar-to-yen exchange rate in Japan, our efforts have reached their limit.

Therefore, we plan to gradually reduce the point allocation rate to 4.5% over a year and a half.

Here is our implementation schedule:

From June 1st, 2024 (Sat): Allocation rate 5.5%
From January 1st, 2025 (Wed): Allocation rate 5.0%
From June 1st, 2025 (Sun): Allocation rate 4.5%

We have set this schedule with care so as not to affect our customers who are using AOCS now and in the future.
Additionally, we will continue to maintain AOCS’s point system “1 point equals 1 yen”, and the policy of free domestic shipping from Toranoana to AOCS.
